Dromedary Forest Education Centre Orientation field trip & Derwent Valley timber processing mills

Fact sheet 2

The Dromedary Forest Education Centre is located within the Dromedary State forest and comprises the upper slopes, peaks and plateau of Mt Dromedary. The centre is approximately 40 to 50 minutes from Hobart by bus. The centre offers a range of learning programs catering to lower, middle, upper primary and secondary students.

During the field trip teachers will be able walk the trails, review the resources and discuss possible programs for class visits.

This field trip also offers teachers an opportunity to visit a sawmill and veneer mill in the area and follow the processing of these timber products. Opportunities for student visits to these sites will also be addressed.
