The Forest Education Foundation currently offers 8 different field trip options for teachers. These can be reviewed on our Professional development page. The Foundation is prepared to negotiate additional opportunities for schools and teachers who are unable to access any of these opportunities because of their location.

‘In addition to existing field trip opportunities the Foundation will be advertising special "one off" opportunities from time to time on this page. Teachers and schools who have registered through this web site will receive direct notification of such opportunities.

Combined Resource Industry teacher Workshops

June School Vacation

Each year during the June school vacation the Forest Education Foundation, Tasmanian Minerals Council Education Centre and the Hands On Energy Discovery Centre offer a 3 day workshop to sites across Tasmania.

The aim of the workshops is to provide teachers with valuable background information about the education services and resource materials provided by the resource industries and to experience aspects of mining, forests and forestry and power generation n Tasmania.

The field trip is advertised around Easter time each year and is offered at a cost of $50 to teachers. This includes all meals, accommodation and transport for the three days.
