World Dendro Field Week - Jan 2014

Tuesday, 23 July, 2013 - 14:30

What is Dendrochronology ?   Join some scientist in the field and find out !

Dendrochronological studies aim to recover environmental information from tree ring series.  In the Australian context, Tasmania offers a wonderful natural laboratory for dendrochronological studies largely due to the unique Gondwanan aspect of its vegetation.  Species such as Huon pine, King Billy pine, Pencil pine and Celery top pine are all long-lived and have clearly defined rings.

Would you like to be part of the Field Week ?

An opportunity for enthusiastic science students from years 9 - 12 to be part of the World Dendrochronology Field Week being hosted in Tasmania during January 2014.
